Troop ICM Program

Troop ICM Program Workshops are designed to fulfill requirements for Girl Scout Brownie Try-Its and Junior Badges, as well as Boy Scout badges. Each program participant receives a certificate verifying the completion of a specific badge or try-it activity.

Troop ICM Information

  • Cost is $8/child participant (chaperones are free)
  • One chaperone is required for every five participants
  • Each workshop lasts approximately two hours
  • All day museum admission is included in the cost of the workshop for each child participant

PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS:

Creating with Clay

Learn all about clay and its sculpting properties in a fun-filled workshop ! Participants practice basic techniques as they create coil pots and freeform sculptures, paint ceramic tiles, and make their own handmade clay to take home!

Printmaking

Release your inner artist with a variety of printmaking techniques, including crayon rubbings, relief printing, stamping, Goyataka prints, linoleum block printing and ‘junk' printing using an array of diverse materials.

Weather Watch

Explore the exciting science concepts of weather by recreating naturally occurring events, such as rock formation, erosion, evaporation, eclipses and cloud formations. Participants learn about the long lasting effects of weather on our planet.

Lights! Camera! Action!

Easy, inviting drama activities designed to help participants become accustomed to performing in front of groups delight participants of all ages. Learn warm-up activities and vocal exercises, write scripts, rehearse short plays, design costumes, and perform.

Puppets and Plays

Puppets are a great vehicle for creative expression! Participants learn about different styles of puppetmaking from around the world! In small groups, they write scripts for a play, create puppets, design props, rehearse, and perform their puppet show for an audience!

Seasonal Safety- FACILITATED BY UI HOSPITAL STAFF

Be Cool, Be Smart, But especially Be Safe! Using props and their best acting skills, girls will participate in short and fun skits to learn about seasonal Safety. Takehome messages will be addressed on the topics of holiday safety issues, winter and summer safety, travel and personal safety.
