2010 Spring Break!
Fitness: Monday, March 15 Don’t spend your Spring Break camped out on the couch – do something! This camp is dedicated to helping kids enjoy a week off of school that’s healthy, lively, and fun! Develop good habits early, and learn that being active is a way of life, not a chore. You don’t have to run a mile to get in your exercise! We’ll talk about and explore different kinds of active play around the museum: hula hoops, jump ropes, obstacle courses, and more! We’ll also learn about eating right. Together we’ll make delicious healthy snack recipes, do taste tests, and rate each one like a food critic. Take home a “cookbook” filled with your favorites at the end!
Go Green: Tuesday, March 16 Have fun that’s good for the earth too! Join us to make plastic bag fashions, bubble wrap paintings, and even a plant starter. Have a great time learning about mother nature and the 3Rs.
Circus: Wednesday, March 17 The circus has it all – excitement, entertainment, fun furry friends, and colorful clowns. Run away (just for the day) and join our circus! We’ll paint your face like a clown or your favorite circus animal, learn about scarf juggling, and do some serious clowning around!
Creatures: Thursday, March 18 The only thing that’s scary about this camp is how much fun we’re going to have! Make your own monster mask, a mythical creature guidebook, some fantastic fantasy art, and write a monster adventure!
Printmaking: Friday, March 19 Calling all artists! Printing is all around us: T-shirts, newspapers, even cereal boxes! Why not join in? Campers will have a blast making their own stamp, creating a print collage, and even screen printing. This camp will really make an impression!
Conferences Day - No Classes in Iowa City!
