From birthday parties to corporate functions, you can host an event that’s like no other at The Iowa Children’s Museum. Party room and facility rentals are available to make your event memorable, easy to plan, and so much fun!

Party Room Rental

Cost: $200 rental fee + cost of admission for all guests

Party Size: Up to 25 people

Time: 3 hours

     Saturday 10 AM–1 PM, 2–5 PM
     Sunday 10 AM–1 PM, 2–5 PM

Payment Details

Museum admission is not included in the rental fee. The host family and all guests must pay museum admission (free for members).

 

Museum admission can be paid at the front desk upon arrival or the party host can coordinate payment for all guests in advance.  

 

Members get a 10% discount and enjoy free admission!

 

Rental Details

The party room measures approximately 18′ x 36′ and comfortably fits up to 25 people seated at tables. Tables and chairs (kid and adult sizes) are provided.

 

You can lock the party room when not in use, making it an excellent “home base” to store your items when you’re ready to go play in our exhibits.

Sinks are available for guests use within the party room. Use of museum refrigerator/freezer during your rental may be possible; check with museum staff for more details.

 

We do not provide staff supervision during exhibit playtime. Children must be supervised in the museum at all times. We require 1 adult for every 5 children in your party to ensure the safety of everyone in our space.

 

You are welcome to decorate the space. Set-up and removal must occur within your rental time slot.

 

Outside food and drink are permitted in the party room only. We do not allow food or beverages on the museum floor. We reserve the right to charge a $100 cleaning fee for food/drink spilled outside the party room or if the party room is not cleaned up after your use. Thank you in advance for being respectful of our space!

 

Cancellation Details

A cancellation notice is required at least 2 weeks from the reservation date. Events that have been cancelled 2+ weeks prior will receive a refund of 50% of base price paid. Parties that have been cancelled with less than 2 weeks notice will not receive a refund.

Facility Rental

Have the entire museum to yourselves!

Facility rentals provide exclusive access while the museum is closed to the public, making it a great option for school family nights, client appreciation events, holiday parties, birthday parties and more.

Cost: $300 rental fee 

Party Size: Up to 15 people

Time: 2 hours

    Tuesday – Sunday After 6 PM

Payment Details

Pricing is based on the length of the rental and number of guests, starting at $300 for up to 15 guests for 2 hours.

 

Payment is due in full at time of reservation. We cannot hold dates without payment. Facility rentals must be booked at least 3 weeks in advance.
