KICM Broadcast Studio

In the KICM Broadcast Studio, kids and their families can create a live video broadcast with real TV station cameras and a versatile broadcast set! Guests can tape anything from a group debate on community or world issues to commercials to telling a funny story about your pet - all aimed at exploring how communication technology is used.

What can you do in the KICM Broadcast Studio?

• Tell your favorite story, whether it's a traditional fairy tale or something you just make up!
• Put on a newscaster costume and become the anchor person for the nightly news!
• Everyone loves to talk about the weather! It's up to you to give an up-to-the-minute report!
• Pretend to be a famous person (or just yourself) and do an interview digging for a scoop!
• Gather your family and friends to record a rendition of your favorite song...Happy Birthday is a museum favorite!
• Give a book review about your favorite story!
• Simply experience expressing how you think or feel...making a recording helps adults and children clarify their thinking. And it's always fun to see yourself on air! 

Parent Tips:

You'll find costumes for both adults and children to help you get involved. This exhibit can help children discuss difficult issues, bring out their inner performer, and learn how to communicate.  You just never can tell what your child is going to say!
